HoYoverse announced its plans to debut the first international Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Tournament series, Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup, in second half of 2023.
First TCG Tournament in Mid-2023
The event invites Genius Invokation TCG players from around the world to take part in a series of regional championships and invitational tournaments, all vying for a share of a reward pool that exceeds USD $270,000.
Genshin Impact’s Open World Adventure RPG has continued to evolve since its release in September 2020. That game’s immersive storyline vivid landscapes, and dynamic characters have been combined with various updates, events, and gameplay improvements over time.
One of recent additions is Genius Invokation TCG event, now introduced in December 2022, a card-based game that combines Genshin Impact’s unique element combat system with strategy development.
In Genius Invokation TCG, players can test their strategic skills against NPCs or compete with other players, using their unique card collection. Latest Version 3.7 update, launched last week, further enriches Genius Invocation TCG, introducing more than 60 new cards and two game modes.
Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup Genshin Impact
Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup follow authorization granted to Genshin Impact Tavern community earlier this year to inaugurate “Cat’s Tail Gathering” GITCG Tournament. As in a community-powered Discord event, by laying groundwork for upcoming international tournament series.
The Prince’s Cup consists of two charts, six regional tournaments running from June to September 2023, and three cross-region invitationals in June, August, and December 2023.
The top candidates from Cat’s Tail Gathering community tournament and wildcard competition will compete for title of regional champion. Quarterfinalist matches will be streamed live on official AstraCarnival platforms including Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.
HoYoverse also allows fasn, gamers, and interested parties to register their non-official Genius Invokation TCG tournaments, as well as with company offering support and guidance.
The tournament will begin with regionals in Korea, Europe, and North America, and wildcard competition registration opens from May 29 on official website.
